CLUB MEETING: Friday 06 November 2026 

Speaker: Greg Spearritt - Title: The Mysterious Mistletoes

Biography: An early interest in birds, randomly sparked by a primary school teacher, led me in due course to the ‘dark side’ (plants!) when, years later, I attempted to create a garden that would attract birds. Working for twenty years as an environmental education teacher prompted me to see a gap in local resources for those who want to better understand their own botanical heritage. The result, achieved through an invaluable partnership with knowledgeable colleagues, is a series of native plant field guides for Toowoomba and the Condamine Catchment. Our aim is to have a comprehensive field guide for all the native plants of the Catchment published by 2028.
